CD - Friends Family, and Neighbors
These tracks were mostly cut at Audio Madness in Warren, MI with Stewart Simon or at my home studio. They were mixed with Don Dixon at his place in Canton, OH over the course of the few weekends.
I generally played drums, keyboards, mandolin, and bass, but I had a lot of help from Stewart Simon, Graham Maby, Don Jones, Don Dixon, Jamie Hoover, Frank Kelly, Veronica Wardowski, Chloe Jones, Gary Sussman, Shaun Mason, Terry Monaghan, Sandy Picard, Ben Silverman, Leslie Jones, Mike O’brien, and John Crenshaw, who all played various instruments and sang (better than me). Michelle Lanno Wadowski did the graphics on this and all of my releases.
As those of you who have made records know, it’s always a big project. Lots of things have to go right, as the natural pull of the earth drags you sideways. Sometimes the sideways adds to the homemade quality and, dare I say, je ne sais quoi of all things made by human hands. Sometimes, the sideways throws a little cake frosting in your hair or stains a piece of clothing, you hope never washes out. And sometimes, you wind up with your head in hands. The scope of the experience is where the treasure lies.
This experience, thankfully, was a solid yes to all of those things. See if you can spot the typo in the liner notes (-:
